Faculty of Philosophy


The undergraduate study program of the faculty focuses on:
1. Philosophy of Culture;
2. Philosophy of Theology.
The faculty is housed in a three-story building with an atrium; the building is strategically located in the center of Bandung. The library has a complete collection, moreover, it is monthly updated. The faculty has an audio-visual room to screen movies to complement classes. There is also a coffee corner for discussions or mere relaxation.

Melintas


Melintas is a international journal on philosophy and religion and it is published three times a year. Melintas is an Indonesian word, literally it means 'to move across' or 'to pass over'. The journal uses it in the sense of 'moving across the border of horizons' and 'passing over the limits of mind' so as to find ever new ideas and possibilities of understanding life and humankind.

The chief editor is Prof. Dr. Bambang Sugiharto.

The associate editors are: Agus Rachmat Widianto, Antonius Subianto, Harimanto Suryanugraha, Fabianus S. Heatubun, Fransiskus Borgias, Maman Suharman, FX Rudiyanto Subagio, Hadrianus Tedjoworo, Laurentius Tarpin, Leonardus Samosir, Slamet Purwadi, Budiono Kusomohamidjojo and Roy Voragen.

The editorial consultants are: George F. Extension Course



Library




The faculty's library has an extensive collection of journals and books on philosophy, theology and sociology in English, Indonesian, Dutch, German and French. From Monday to Saturday the library is open from 8 to 12.

Sinesofia



The Faculty of Philosophy is equipped with an auditorium - Sinesofia - for the screening of movies and documentaries as these are important in our today's culture.

Students


Students come from all over the Indonesian archipelago. Some come to study Philosophy of Culture, but most to study the twin program Philosophy/Theology, and these students are male for they study to become Catholic priests.
